Chronic Monster XXL is a feminized photoperiod seed, which means that it will only produce female plants and requires an adjustment of the lighting to support the change to the flowering phase.
It is a mix of indica and sativa. Due to many years of crossing different strain types, pure indicas or sativas are almost impossible to find. But strains like this offer the best of both worlds - a strain that offers fast and high yields with amazing effects and overall high potency.
This strain has an impressive pedigree. Its first ancestors were Colombian, Mexican and Thai sativas mixed with Afghan indica. These are some of the original landraces, but unfortunately unknown hybrids that can be found in many other strains. The final cross that led to Chronic Monster XXL included Northern Light, Skunk x Northern Light and AK47.
The plant can be grown outdoors. Indoors, the flowering period ends after 8 to 9 weeks and the plant can produce around 600 grams per square meter. Outdoors, the plant will finish flowering around October and produce up to 700 grams per plant. This is one of the higher yielding varieties. This medium sized, not too dense plant is the perfect combination of good yield and excellent quality. This variety does not respond well to topping. This variety needs special attention to dry it thoroughly after harvest to preserve its subtle fragrance.
This variety has a subtle and gentle aroma and flavor. But these beautiful crystal-covered buds can contain up to 21% T (tetrahydrocannabinol) and a medium amount of C (cannabidiol). Its effects lean more towards the indica, as it gives more of a "body high" that makes you more tired. It can also stimulate the appetite. It is more suitable for night-time use.
This plant is popular due to its combination of appearance and sweet smell. It develops a single large central bud with few side branches. It is mild and develops a sweet odor during the flowering phase.
